Getting Started

NidanEHR runs as an integrated portal. You can access all clinical, laboratory, and billing services through a single gateway.

Accessing the Portal

Open your web browser and navigate to the portal address provided by your system administrator (for example, https://ehr.example.org).

The portal home screen displays dashboard links for each application module: - EMR Clinical Portal: Clinical charting, patient search, and consultations (OpenMRS). - Laboratory Portal: Specimen registration and results management (OpenELIS). - Billing & Pharmacy Portal: Invoicing, POS payments, and pharmacy inventory (Odoo).

EMR Clinical Portal (OpenMRS)

Logging In

  1. Click the EMR Clinical Portal card.
  2. Enter your username and password.
  3. Select your clinical location (such as Outpatient Clinic or Ward) from the dropdown list.
  4. Click Login.

Patient Registration

  1. Select "Register Patient" from the home screen dashboard.
  2. Fill in the patient details: Name, Gender, Date of Birth, and Address.
  3. Save the record. A unique patient ID is automatically generated.

Clinical Encounters

  1. Search for a patient using their name or unique ID.
  2. Open the patient chart and click "Start Visit."
  3. Use the recording interface to enter vital signs, document clinical notes, or create lab and imaging orders.

Billing & Pharmacy Portal (Odoo)

The billing portal is linked with clinical orders. When a clinician orders a lab test or pharmacy item, the invoice is generated automatically.

Invoicing and Payments

  1. Open Odoo and click "Point of Sale" or "Invoicing."
  2. Search for the patient's name to view their pending clinical orders.
  3. Process the payment. Once paid, the invoice status changes to "Paid," which automatically releases the lab order or pharmacy item for fulfillment.

Laboratory Portal (OpenELIS)

The lab portal is used by laboratory technicians to manage diagnostic tests.

Processing Lab Orders

  1. Open the Laboratory Portal.
  2. Search for the patient's order (sent from OpenMRS).
  3. Record the specimen collection details and print barcoded sample labels.
  4. Enter the test results.
  5. Click "Validate." Once validated, results are sent back to the patient's chart in the EMR portal.
